Comprehensive Business Solutions (CBS) is a family owned business founded in 1996. We specialize in being cost effective and tailoring a unique plan to meet all of the accounting and bookkeeping needs of our clients. While we take pride in simplifying financial business practices, we aim to always keep our clients informed, making sure they are pleased with their plan. We work hand in hand, either with our client’s existing CPA or one of our associate CPAs, to make tax time easier.

CBS was founded with small businesses in mind. We realize that people can be skilled in their specialized work field but at the same time may struggle in business due to a lack of resources or knowledge when it comes to the financial aspects of running a business. Based on this need CBS offers support for small business bookkeeping and accounting needs. Over the years CBS has grown into a prosperous business, offering comprehensive solutions to meet the diverse needs of a small business.

Lori Squires, Founder and President
Lori started her career as a credit investigator with a local bank. Based on her strong leadership and organizational skills, she quickly moved into management positions. To maintain her working knowledge of all things financial, Lori obtained her certificate in accounting in 1997 from Manchester Community College. She simultaneously began taking on clients in 1996 for her own business, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services.”

In 2008, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” became Comprehensive Business Solutions. Over the years she has assisted a number of businesses throughout Connecticut. Her honest, thorough approach and detailed organization have given CBS a strong reputation within the local community of CPAs and various financial firms. In return, they consistently recommend her services, especially when ongoing clean-up and maintenance of books are needed.

Through her experience, Lori has learned that while small business owners can be extremely skilled and successful in their professional field, they are often not as adept at managing the financial, bookkeeping aspects of a business. Her personal goal is to “maintain your books while you maintain your business.

Sarah Squires, Administrative Assistant
Sarah joined CBS in May of 2009. She holds an Associate’s degree from Manchester Community College and is currently working towards her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Hartford. Sarah assists in all aspects of the business. She oversees office tasks and manages daily procedures.

Sarah is instrumental in coordinating CBS communication efforts and keeping various social networking sites updated and active. She is also proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.

Jean Olender, Office Manager
Jean joined the CBS team in October 2009. She has over 20 years of experience in operations management for a wide variety of business types. Her exposure to differing industries makes her a valuable asset to the CBS team.

Jean fulfills a number of responsibilities at the CBS home office — it is her job to manage day-to-day operations.

Joshua Squires, Sales & Marketing Manager
Josh joined CBS in May of 2008 while attending Manchester Community College (2005-09) with studies in Accounting. Prior to 2010, Josh was responsible for data entry in our accounting department.

More recently he was promoted as our Sales and Marketing Manager. Serving in this capacity, Josh will promote CBS in the marketplace as well as advise our clients on their own marketing budgets and activities. Josh works closely with several companies that offer various advertising and marketing resources. He will be able to utilize these relationships to better meet the needs of CBS clients.
