CBS (Comprehensive Business Solutions) is a family owned business founded in 1996. We specialize in being cost effective and tailoring a unique plan to meet all of the accounting and bookkeeping needs of our clients. While we take pride in simplifying financial business practices, we aim to always keep our clients informed, making sure they are pleased with their plan. We work hand in hand, either with our client’s existing CPA or one of our associate CPAs, to make tax time easier.

CBS was founded with small businesses in mind. Lori realized that people could be skilled in their specialized work field but at the same time, could struggle in business due to a lack of resources or knowledge when it came to the financial aspects of their business. Out of this need, CBS was launched to offer support for small business bookkeeping and accounting needs. CBS has since grown into a prosperous business, offering comprehensive solutions to meet the diverse needs of a small business.

Lori Squires, Founder and President

Lori Squires, founder and president of Comprehensive Business Solutions, started her career as a credit investigator with a local bank. It wasn’t long before her leadership and organizational skills were recognized and she was moved to a management position in the financial department of a local grocery store. To maintain her working knowledge of all things financial, Lori obtained her certificate in accounting in 1997 from Manchester Community College. She simultaneously began taking on clients in 1996 for her own business, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services.”

Lori began “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” with small businesses in mind. She noticed that people were very skilled and successful in their business specialty, but often not as adept at managing the financial, bookkeeping side. As Lori’s bookkeeping services grew, Lori continued her education and broadened her knowledge for the needs of small business owners.

As a result of her continual education and experience, Lori specializes in establishing and running new businesses, the auditing and clean-up of financial records, job-costing, budgeting, marketing, business planning, and human resources. Building her business on these skills, Lori’s aim is to, “Let us maintain your books while you maintain your business.”sm

In 2008, “Lori’s Bookkeeping Services” became Comprehensive Business Solutions. Her abilities have enabled her to assist a large number of businesses throughout the state of Connecticut. Through her honest, thorough-approach, and detail-oriented organization, her business continues to grow. Lori’s reputation has grown throughout the community of CPAs and various firms who have recommended her services, especially when an ongoing clean-up and maintenance of books are needed. Despite the successful expansion of CBS and hiring new employees, Lori remains committed to maintaining the same level of excellence and commitment to each and every client she partners with.

Amy Volz, Accounts Manager/Company Representative

Amy Volz joined Comprehensive Business Solutions as the Accounts Manager in 2009. She received her Bachelors degree from Connecticut College in 2006 and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Hartford. Amy maintains the accounts of current and new clients, the organizational structure for CBS, and is a company representative. She is also able to provide human resource materials to businesses Lori consults with.
She is proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook.

Sarah Squires, Administrative Assistant

Sarah Squires joined Comprehensive Business Solutions as the Executive Assistant in May of 2009. She has recently received her Associates degree from Manchester Community College and is currently working towards her Bachelors degree at the University of Hartford. Sarah oversees office tasks and manages daily procedures.
Sarah works side by side with Lori helping meet the needs of individual client projects.
